Employment Opportunities...Qualities I look for in Employees:
Housekeepers:Housekeepers skills and abilities are established at the time of hire. Such as: laundry, ironing, cleaning, desire to help with holiday decorating, personal shopping, etc. If you do not iron that does not mean you wouldn’t be hired it means that you will not be given a client who wants this as part of their services. Generally housekeepers work alone however I would entertain the idea of a “team” if presented. Organizers:The most important skill in an organizer is their ability to relate and talk to people. It is essential that they can quickly assess a situation, not only the job at hand, but the clients willingness or lack of to get the job done. They also need to be able to speak frankly yet compassionately to clients. An organizer does not just go in to a home and organize it. They have to be able to talk to the client and come up with solutions that will work for them. General Employment Issues:All employees work only the hours and days they designate are available. However, they need to be available year round on those days and hours since clients are routinely scheduled. Example: You want to work on Tuesdays & Wednesday 8:30am-3:30pm, and Thursdays 8:30-Noon. Clients will be placed on your schedule only during those days and times. We do have some clients who only want services during specific times of the year Example: Harvest. It is up to the housekeeper if they want these clients on their schedule or not. Occasionally opportunities present for more hours, but staff are not required to take any of them. Current starting pay rate for all employees is $10.00 per hour with potential to $11.00 per hour or paid time off after 1 year. Employees are paid for billable time (time spent in clients homes) only. Employees use their own vehicle and are reimbursed mileage for travel outside the greater Grand Forks area only. We are a small personal business and appreciation tokens are given as we are able to. All new employees will work one on one with a staff member until we feel they are ready to be independent. The training period is designed to relate our expectations and share our expertise. We are currently hiring a housekeeper for routinely scheduled hours and are also looking for someone who would be willing to fill in for vacations, sick days, and one time cleanings.
